Bevan Taylor - St. Nicholas' Church
Bevan Taylor has been a parishoner at St. Nicholas' Church for over eight decades. In the mid 90s, he was presented with a photographic album created by the church's first Rector, Rev. A. Barnett, showing the early years of the church in the 1920s. He restored this album, adding descriptive detail where possible.
We show many of those images here, along with some of Bevan's recollections of life at St. Nicholas' Church, schooling at Burnage High and his early life in Didsbury. Accompanying him in many of the clips is Sybil Gawkrodger, herself a lifelong parishioner at St. Nicholas' Church.
